I would put the financial “value” ...Darned right.

I would put the financial “value” of my PhD university course fees as:
• 65% university library access – the vast majority of which is via online journals, accessed from home.
• 20% supervisor face time – low frequency, but high impact.
• 10% networking opportunities.
• 5% incidental savings – software discounts, cheap access to stuff.

Like you, several of the academics I come across simply don’t “get” the realities of being a self-funded part-time student. On individual (before he gave up) used to lament that I didn’t come to the regular Wednesday lunchtime seminars, even though the vast majorities of topics discussed had zero relevance to my studies. For him, learning was an end in itself. For me, most seminars represented an expensive trip into town, lost study time and lost income – so my non-attendance was a no-brainer.Richard Parnhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01290741775108548540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4750644041182093675.post-52830485512916888502012-04-10T03:20:03.032-07:002012-04-10T03:20:03.032-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.MC Grathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01449764661057747771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4750644041182093675.post-9156826444532702122011-09-24T14:44:06.417-07:002011-09-24T14:44:06.417-07:00The BIS have updated their website - and I don'...The BIS have updated their website - and I don't think you can now read old issues of Spacerflight straight from the site.

My edited masters disso is still in peer review - that can take ages.

If you have any specific questions, let me know.Mark Shanahanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06582169025678103551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4750644041182093675.post-70954494528125662192011-09-22T23:20:25.281-07:002011-09-22T23:20:25.281-07:00i do have a question ... this link I've found ...i do have a question ... this link I've found in your post
http://www.bis-spaceflight.com/spaceflight.htm
its not working .. this link is directing to the home page .. i want to read that but literally i can't
masters dissertationOssehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08036641627997541556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4750644041182093675.post-19572032729874921902011-08-05T22:33:35.381-07:002011-08-05T22:33:35.381-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.marthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07890436045634993382noreply@blogger.com
